Ethylene Oxide Sterilization, also known as EO Gas or ETO, is a gas diffusion sterilization method suitable for many applications. It does not require a high temperature and is compatible with a variety of materials, resins and products. EO Gas Sterilization relies on four parameters: gas concentration, temperature, relative humidity, and time of exposure. Microorganisms are kept from reproducing due to alkylating agents in the Ethylene Oxide (EO). Highly effective at relatively low temperatures Carcinogenic, volatile and explosive Toxicity and by products cause limitation for sterilization. Requires more employees to operate and maintain than other sterilizer. Product exposed to EO penetrating gas Defined moisture, pressure and temperature for a validated period of time.
